One of the memories I treasure occurred a bit after these two photos were taken.
The capping ceremony was divided into two parts, and we were in the second part, along with Architecture and Science I think. But the parade to the Town Hall which we had to participate in preceded the first of the two ceremonies. |

So, as a result, we were left milling about outside the Town Hall wondering what to do with ourselves while we waited for the second ceremony. Then it started to rain, and all the graduands ran for cover. Most of the faculties just scattered in all directions, but there was a distinct flying wedge of purple heading to the nearest pub en masse. I quite enjoyed the sight before I took off after them myself.
